My wish list

Keeping the plants you’d like in your garden one day, seeing whether they suit the soil in your gardens, putting them straight into your garden, and seeing who has them to swap nearby.

On My wish list you keep the plants you’d like in your garden one day: a tree you saw on a walk, a perennial from the catalogue or a houseplant. That way you won’t forget them when you go to the garden centre.

Adding a plant to your wish list

  1. Open the plant’s page: a species from the guide, a garden plant or a species from Europe.
  2. Choose Add to my wish list (with the heart). The heart fills in: the plant is on the list.
  3. Tap again to take it off.

Each plant is on the list only once.

Your wish list

Your wish list is under Seeds and wish list, next to your seeds. Under My gardens the Wish list button takes you there too. For each plant you see:

  • the name, with a link to its page;
  • your note: choose the pencil, e.g. for the border by the patio or which variety;
  • Already in … if the plant is already in one of your gardens;
  • for each garden with a known soil, whether the plant suits it, needs care, or is not advised there (see Your garden’s soil).

With Add to my garden you choose the garden and tap the map where it goes. A houseplant goes to Indoors. The bin removes the plant from your list.

Tip

In What fits here?, the plants on your wish list that suit that spot come first, with a heart.

Swapping nearby

If a plant says Available to swap nearby, someone nearby is offering it on the noticeboard, or someone who shares their stock has seeds of it. Tap it to go to It’s a match, with Reply and Ask on the noticeboard.

Looking for seeds of a vegetable, herb or flower (e.g. a tomato or marigold)? Choose Look for seeds and pick the crop: it goes on your wish list, and you’ll also see who has seeds of it.

Your wish list is yours alone: people you share your garden with don’t see it. Only if you choose Show my wish list for swapping nearby yourself (see Swap settings) do gardeners nearby with seeds of a plant see that you’re looking for it. It’s included in the export of your data under Account.
